PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:

The reserve boasts two kilometres of creek frontage with deep water mooring, riparian rainforests with old growth trees, two freshwater lagoons and six kilometres of mowed walking trails . The Bungawalbin Creek is famous for its bass fishing and provides over twenty kms of remote winding waterway before joining the Richmond River. Listed as high priority natural conservation land, (45 hectares under rates exempt conservation agreement), the property is mapped as being within a significant wildlife corridor and is identified as key wildlife habitat. Over 130 species of birds, 44 species of mammals and 24 species of frogs have been identified on the reserve, along with several endangered and vulnerable plants.

CAMPING FACILITIES:

There is a peaceful camping area with amenities block containing hot showers and composting toilets used as an environmental education facility for university students.

ECO - TOURISM:

The opportunity exists for eco-tourism, i.e. bird-watching, canoe/kayak tours, education/research facility. Wall tents, cots and related equipment available. Other potential income opportunities include use as a bio-banking site and future carbon credits.
